I have a passion for creating unique, clean and user-friendly websites to suit all shapes and sizes.

As a ‘one-man-band’, I have plenty of strings to my bow. Although I mainly focus on finely tuned web development, my portfolio showcases an array of SEO, Javascript and JQuery, as well as much more.

So some information about me

So who am I?

My name is Paul Ferris. I am a BEng Computer Science graduate from Queens University Belfast. Originally from County Down,Ireland currently working as a software developer in Scotland.

What interests me?

Aside from being behind a computer, I enjoy Gaelic Football, Soccer and an occasional round of golf, weather permitting in Scotland. I enjoy challening myself to do new things most recently I took up long distance running and completed a marathon in my first 4 months of training, raising over £1,500 in the process for a childrens cancer charity.

Experience

What makes me different.As a young developer I used to enjoy hacking away at games such as Championship Manager to alter databases to work in my favour, little did I know as a 12 year old this would lead on to a career.

What next. When I left school I decided to further my career by attending Queens University Belfast to study Computer Science. During my time as a student I started to develop websites for my local football team which enabled me first hand to work with a live website and overcome obstacles on a daily basis.

Placement...next on my career path was to gain an intership which would allow me to work with some of the best software developers in Ireland, this lead me to Intel which I undertook a software developer position. During this time, I seen how things worked in a very fast paced department.

Where to next...after placement I went on to successfully complete with my degree stepping into my current position in Glasgow working with on the leading technologies for the top media company in the United Kingdom.

So what languages do I know,Amongst others I have a strong technical background in JQuery, Javascript, Java, C#, MySQL, PHP, HTML5, Magento, Ab Initio, UNIX, Perl, Android.

Other stuff I know, through my challenges in developing website I have gained experience in working with Magento, SEO, Joomla, Modx, Wordpress.

Success Stories

What I am proud off, during a freelance year working in house for a small gift basket company I worked extensively on ensuring budgets where kept to a minimum by making the websites developed ranked in the top 10 in search engines by employing various SEO tactics. To date I have over 50 top 5 search places for specifically targeted phrases.
